I coach under 10's and I am struggling to get the boys?

I coach under 10's and I am struggling to get the boys to commit to the ruck and win quick ball. It either results in slow ball or more often than not lost ball. Can anyone suggest a drill to build up the team's confidence to compete in the ruck.

Ed, I have found that a simple contact routine i call turtle power works well, set 2 strong players or sypathetic coaches with tackle shields(or 1 with a drive pad) 3 yards from the line, task the players to take the ball in to contact and go to ground on command and set the ball, the next two-three players then hit, link and drive forward 2 steps. coaching points being:go to ground on command, safe placing of the ball, hit and bind(secondary players)drive together.

Do they know that they are protecting a teammate from getting hurt on the ground.. i would try to explain that it is a way of protecting your mates and gain advantage for your side...
